Don't overdo the checkpoint count. Stickering every corner turns a patrol into a scanning sprint rather than an actual round. Prioritize genuinely high-risk or blind spots — garage entrances, back doors, the generator room, roof access — and 8 to 12 checkpoints is enough for most communities.

Set a realistic expected duration. Define upfront how long a round should take and compare it against the actual time in the report. A round that finishes suspiciously fast was probably not walked in full; one that runs long points to a bottleneck in the route.

Bring the guard into the rollout, not just the board. Framing a new system as "we're monitoring you" builds resistance. Framing it as "a record that protects you too, if something happens overnight" speeds up adoption — because it's true.
